My journey into agribusiness is profoundly anchored in my childhood and familial heritage. Raised by a father who was a farmer and a mother who owned a dairy, my passion for agriculture has been cultivated through the values of diligence and perseverance instilled in me from a young age. However, the path I have traversed to realize this passion has not been devoid of challenges. In 1985, at 18, I relocated to South Africa to pursue better opportunities for myself and my family. I commenced my endeavors in the most modest of circumstances, selling capes and belts on the streets of Johannesburg. This began my entrepreneurial journey—a genuine testament to resilience and determination. Over time, I expanded my ventures, inaugurating one of the first Ethiopian Restaurants in Johannesburg.
